On the Friday evening (Feb. 6, 2004), the barge with the first in Estonia, new Ship-to-Shore (STS) container crane has moored to the Muuga CT’s quay. During the next three days this crane has been transferred to the quay.
With the help of this crane, company will be able to speed up the handling of the container vessels, increase the productivity, and that, in turn, will increase competitiveness of the Terminal in the Baltic region.
Technical specifications:
The crane has an outreach of 36 m enabling it to handle containers for Panamax size vessels. The crane has a lifting capacity of 40 ton, a hoisting speed of 60/120 m/min and the trolley speed is 150 m/min.
